OPERATING PRINCIPLES
The Foundation Il Mondo di Chicca ETS pursues solidarity goals directly or through the liberal provision of resources to non-profit organizations that operate in accordance with its mission and values.
The Foundation operates through two priority tools:
- Internal projects of the Foundation
- Support for worthy initiatives of other institutions
AREAS OF INTERVENTION
In collaboration with important local and international bodies, we are developing concrete and sustainable projects in three areas of intervention:
1. Education, to promote opportunities for studying and professional training
2. Health, to ensure essential services and adequate care
3. Environment, to promote the eco-sustainable development of the territory

WHERE WE OPERATE
Pemba, Zanzibar archipelago, Tanzania. A wonderful island that hides great suffering.
- Most of the inhabitants live in conditions of widespread poverty
- Primary goods and services are lacking
- It is one of the areas of the world most affected by parasitic and infectious diseases
- There is a serious lack of surgical assistance and specialized medical personnel
- Infant and maternal mortality is 17 times higher than in Italy
- There is heavy groundwater pollution
- The agricultural sector is predominant, but suffers from the difficult geographical and climatic conditions

In collaboration with the Zanzibar Water Authority, we will identify an area of the district in which to build a well to guarantee drinking water to the villages.

The school project aims to improve the sanitary conditions of the primary school of Ndagoni (east of Chake-Chake) attended by about 1,200 girls and boys. In particular, the Il Mondo di Chicca and Ivo de Carneri Foundations will be involved in the restoration of sinks and toilets.
